Monaco

Monaco, or Principality of Monaco, is located on the Mediterranean cost, 20 minutes from Nice. Monaco is surrounded by the French villages of Cap-d’Ail, Beausoleil, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin and La Turbie. Part of the Genes Republic of which the Grimaldis’ were one of the main aristocratic family, relatively independent since 1297, it has become a constitutional monarchy in 1911 and ruled since 2005 by the Prince Albert II of Monaco from the Grimaldi’s dynasty which is one of the oldest regnant dynasty in the world. This state which covered 1,974Km2 in 2005 and which covers today 2,02 km2 is the smallest independent state in the world ( 1st being the Vatican). The current  population is 36,371 habitants living on 202 hectares; with 18,005 habitants per Km2, it is the most populated country in the world.

Nearly completely urbanized, the Principality of Monaco has a favorable Mediterranean climate and has numerous luxury hotels. The Grand Prix of Monaco takes place every year and several exhibitions are available all year long including the Monte Carlo Casino, Oceanographic Museum and the Prince’s Palace.
